Imagine walking down the streets of Monongahela before electric lines and telephone wires crossed the sky. The Monongahela Area Library offer a glimpse of just such views as imagined in the the digital artwork of Patricia Gotto. Gotto’s imaginative creations will be on display in the lobby and main circulation area of the library during April 9 – 14 as part of the events marking National Library Week.
The artist creates unique canvas giclee prints featuring some of the many treasured Victorian homes of the Monongahela area. Through digital retouching, she enhances the original architecture and eliminates any modern distractions.
While her work will be on display all week, the library will also host a meet and greet with the artist. Those interested may contact the library at 724-258-5409 for a date and time or stop by to see the artwork during library hours, Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Friday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
