The Western PA Conservancy will host its annual river sojourn on Saturday, June 9, with a canoe trip along the northern Youghiogheny River.
The one-day float will include activities and presentations centered on the theme “Rock the Yough,” focusing on the geology, ecology and history of this section of the river. Participants will start at the Yough River Park in Connellsville and travel 14 miles to Hazelbaker’s Bottom Yough Outfitters, Inc. in Layton. The cost is $65/person, which includes meals, canoe rental, shuttle service, a t-shirt and educational programs.
