The State Theatre, located in Uniontown, opened on October 30, 1922 as the largest and finest movie palace and vaudeville house in the region. The theatre continues to operate as the cultural center of Fayette County 90 years later.
The beautiful and historic theatre benefits the community by offering a season of professional performances, concerts, classic films, and community events. To make this occasion even more memorable, plans are underway to celebrate the anniversary with a special season of shows and special events in the month of October. The theatre is planning a reception on Thursday, July 5th at 4 p.m. to announce these events. The reception will take place at the State Theatre, located at 27 East Main Street in Uniontown. All are welcome to attend as the theatre unveils the season of shows and announces the 90th Anniversary events as well as the special fundraising plan to mark the occasion. The event is at no cost to the attendees. Fundraising opportunities are available. Call the State Theatre for more information on the reception or the fundraising opportunities at 724-439-1360 or 800-397-2554.
