Former Mon Valley resident Hosts Book Signing

Amy Elizabeth Smith, originally from the Mon Valley and a 1982 Ringgold High School graduate, will appear at a book signing and author reception at the Monongahela Area Library on Tuesday, July 10 from 6 - 8 p.m.

This summer, she published a nonfiction literary travel memoir entitled All Roads Lead to Austen: A Year’s Journey with Jane. The book describes a year spent traveling and holding reading groups on Jane Austen in Guatemala, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, and Argentina.

The former area resident teaches professional writing, creative writing, and literature at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She has an undergraduate degree in Music from West Virginia University and a master’s degree and PhD in English from Penn State University. Copies of Smith’s book will be available at the book signing, and a portion of the profit will benefit the Monongahela Area Library. For more information, call the library at 724-258-5409.
