Washington, PA is about to shake things up the way David Bradford (leader of the Whiskey Rebellion) did over 200 years ago with the Whiskey Rebellion Festival July 28-30.

The Whiskey Rebellion Festival in Washington July 28-30 will feature reenactments and historical interpretations of the era.

The event celebrates the heritage and unique character of the region by focusing on the historical significance of the Rebellion. This history is unique to Western Pennsylvania and primarily Washington County, and the festival honors this significant event through reenactments, historical interpretations, family activities, heritage music and food.
Community-focused entertainment combines with nationally renowned artists to create a festival that acknowledges the past, celebrates the present and looks toward the future.
The Main Street Farmers Market, a Health and Wellness Expo, and a free community concert by the Washington Symphony Orchestra will be held Thursday, July 28. Friday is Community Night, and the “Blues, Brews and BBQ” events include a festival happy hour, BBQ cook-off and blues concert featuring Ruby Red and the Dirty Devils, Sweaty Betty, and headliner Billy Price. Saturday’s full festival schedule begins with the Whiskey Rebellion Festival Community Parade, followed by finals of the Whiskey Rebellion Barbecue Cook-Off, the Whiskey Rebellion Heritage & Music Festival featuring live heritage demonstrations, displays and music, historical re-enactments, a mercantile tent, frontier art show, street theater, kids area, an evening free concert, and fireworks display. |
