The cremation and funeral business hasn’t changed much over the years—until now. With the opening of Cremation & Funeral Care in March 2012 on Route 19 near the intersection with Valley Brook Road in McMurray, a different style of service is available.

Operated by Danielle Andy Belusko and Erin Leigh Hess, a progressive attitude is reflected by their female presence in a male-dominated business. Their motto is “Owned by Women, Operated by Women, Care by Women.” The focus of their full-service business is to provide comfort, sensitive care and compassion to families in their time of sorrow. Belusko expressed her concept as, “I care about people, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to carry out my passion by serving and caring for the families of our community.” In addition, the interior of their building has a different “feel” than traditional funeral homes; it is designed to make clientele comfortable and allow the owners to create a mood of hospitality in a welcoming environment. It has an aura of calmness and serenity.
Belusko has 20 years experience, and Hess has 16 years experience; each is a first generation funeral director. Both earned bachelor’s degrees, followed by licenses in mortuary science. They are especially knowledgeable to serve as counselors regarding benefits available to families of military veterans and medical assistance (welfare) customers. Their staff includes Sarah Barczak, who serves as an intern; she will start college next month and plans to attend the Public Institute of Mortuary Science after that.

Cremation & Funeral Care offers a no-cost cremation service if the family desires to donate a body to medical research. Otherwise, costs for standard cremation range from $1,095 to $3,295. The cost of a typical funeral service package ranges from $1,095 to $6,485.
