It’s never too early to think “Book Sale,” so as a summertime reminder The Friends of South Park Township Library would like you to keep reading and saving your books for its Fall Book Sale at the South Park Township Community Center, 2575 Brownsville Road in South Park.
The sale is Thursday, October 18, 6 to 8 p.m.; Friday, October 19, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, October 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the ever-popular “$5-A-Bag Day.” Due to lack of storage space we cannot accept items until late September and would appreciate your keeping all items in a clean, dry area so they will be in a good saleable condition. If you or someone you know has books and items and needs assistance in getting them to the library or plans to move before the sale dates, please call the library at 412-833-5585 to make special arrangements. All proceeds for the Friends book sale benefit the library.
Following are items needed for the sale: all books (e.g., hardback, paperback, fiction, non-fiction, children, adult, school, educational, coffee table), old records, albums, books on tape, audio music tapes, CDs, DVDs, video tapes, video games, computer and electronic games and programs, games, puzzles, toys and stuffed animals. Games, puzzles and toys should contain all parts and pieces and placed in taped up boxes. Friends do not accept magazines, small Reader’s Digests, National Geographics, jewelry or flea market/garage sale items. Computer books, programs, discs, business or tax publications, manuals and directories should be no older than one year. These items can be recycled from your home on recyclable days or dropped off at your local recyclable bins. Encyclopedia sets are no longer accepted for the sale.
