At the July 12 Donora Borough regular meeting, Council discussed the progress of the Donora Place Plan Sewer Extension Project. All of the work has been completed, except for the tap-in phase, which is currently in progress.
Residents were mailed a letter informing them of the details of the tap-in phase in June, and they have 120 days to comply.
The residents’ fees to complete the installation include a one-time $100 inspection fee, a $10 Mon Valley Sewage Authority fee, and a construction fee of $29 (for the first $2,000 of work) and an additional $10 for each $1,000 of work.
In a goodwill gesture, the Council held a drawing at the meeting in connection with the Sewer Project. Donora resident, Kimberly A. Goryl of 609 10th St., was awarded a reimbursement of the $100 sewage tap-in fee.
