“Painting on Pottery: A Collaboration” is the title of a show that features hand-thrown and hand-painted pottery. Friday, September 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. will be the opening reception with live music, wine, punch and hors d’oeuvres.
The show will continue on Saturday, September 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be held at Mother Earth Farm, formerly Little Green Apples, in Waynesburg, PA.
Jennifer Adamson, a potter, asked Carol Randolph, a painter, to decorate her pieces. She turns them on a wheel, fires them to bisque, and gives them to Carol, who paints them with Chinese brush painting and folk art. Then they are glazed and fired again. “It has been great fun to do this project and [it’s] totally different from any other art I have done,” Carol said.
Other original media by these artists will be shown, including paintings, note cards and jewelry; and gift certificates will be available. There will also be a drawing for a free $25 gift certificate from each artist.
The show is free and open to everyone. For more information, call 724-998-9161.
