New Eagle Post Office at Risk of Closing

Rumor has it that the New Eagle Post Office is closing on March 31, 2012, because the owner of the building in which it is housed has failed to negotiate a mutually acceptable renewal lease with the U. S. Postal Service.

Balance Budget for Donora in 2012

At the regular Donora Council Meeting on December 8, 2011, the proposed 2012 budget was approved with no tax increase. A special meeting will be held on December 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. to officially adopt the budget.

Carroll Twp. Passes 2012 Budget

Residents of Carroll Township will be pleased that the 2012 budget was passed with no tax increase. Supervisors passed the budget at the December 6, 2011 meeting. Chairman Thomas Rapp credited gambling revenues as well as fiscal responsibility within the township for the balanced budget.

Finleyville Getting Ready for Christmas

The November Finleyville Council meeting was short and centered on preparations for Christmas. Council members were reminded that Light-up Night in Finleyville is scheduled to be Sunday, November 27 with the festivities beginning at 7:00 pm and the arrival of Santa Clause by fire truck shortly thereafter.

Public Nuisances Discussed at South Park Township Board of Supervisors Meeting

Two of the previous three public nuisances were taken up at the November 14  Board of Supervisors Meeting. Action was taken on the property at 2828 Sebolt Road to reject the public nuisance as the repairs to the construction have been very positive, according to Code Enforcement Officer Gary Wargo.
