In addition, you’ll gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone. Hamilton Presbyterian Youth Group Looking to Grow its Members
Hamilton Presbyterian Church’s Youth Group, “The God Squad,” helps the youth in our area find their way in today’s world with faith and Christian values. As seniors graduate each year, which makes room for new faces and friends to meet. If you are a teen, or know a teen, in grades 6 through 12 looking to have fun, meet other teens with the same struggles and questions about today’s world, and help others and yourself in the process, this group is something you might want to try.
The group meets every Sunday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. September through May. The focus is on “we” and the group, a new concept to some teens at the “I stage” in their life. It means “we” listen, “we” serve, and “we” have fun. Meetings vary each week and include snacks or food, a short Bible study, videos, games (some silly, some related to the study), and lots of conversation. Teens learn to further give of themselves by taking part in different mission projects and helping in local soup kitchens and thrift stores. The highlight for many members has been their experience with the one-week Biannual Mission trip, coming up again in the summer of 2014. Other offsite actives include semiannual weekend retreats in the spring and fall. And if that isn’t enough, a teen choir is available through Hamilton’s music program.
All teens in local school districts, grades 6 through 12, are welcome to join the Sunday evening fellowship, fun, and personal growth. Church membership is not necessary. The God Squad is always looks for outstanding adult leadership, both employed and volunteer, so come check it out if you are interested. Join in any Sunday evening, or call the church office at 412-884-2722. Hamilton Presbyterian Church is located 4500 Hamilton Road, Bethel Park.
