Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a lung disease once referred to as “smoker's cough” or “smoker's disease” that is now afflicting non-smokers and children due to secondhand smoke. Warning signs include frequent bouts of colds or bronchitis, coughing, difficult breathing, wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. Most often when people experience such things they are quick to blame the heat, their age or a need for exercise.

Talk about convenience. Imagine being able to have a blood test taken in Giant Eagle before you do your banking, shop for groceries, and play the lottery. Then when you get home, you have the ability to log-on to a website to access your medical information on demand. Beginning Friday, June 1, people who receive medical care at Healthy Directions in the Finleyville Giant Eagle can access their personal health information — anytime.
