Jeffrey S. Mendola, CMFC LuTCF, has received GAMA International’s International Management Award at the silver level. Mendola, who is Managing Principal with Waddell & Reed, Inc., was one of some 1,250 recipients of the award in 2011. Mendola has been a professional in the financial services industry for 22 years. He joined Waddell & Reed in 1998.

Daniel Zyglowicz, the son of Dolores Michaels Zyglowicz and the late Tadeusz Zyglowicz of Monessen, was recently awarded the Frederick Douglass Institute Service Award from California University of Pennsylvania. The award is given to an individual for their contributions and work on behalf of the Frederick Douglass Institute.

Haley Durkacz, a 2011 high honors graduate of Ringgold High School, was selected as a member of the cheer squad at West Virginia University this fall. At Ringgold, Haley participated on the competition squad under the direction of Coach Lauren Badini O’Rourke, clenching the PA AAA Championship title at Pitt’s Fitzgerald Field House in 2010 and Grand Championship title at the Serra Catholic Spring Classic in March 2011.
